Emotion

Thank you to those who contributed to the very first Community Create Graphic, by commenting on the initial call out for participation; One Word Wonder #1 – Emotion.

Community Create; One Word Wonder EMOTION 1st - 7th 2014

I enjoyed the honesty of people who took the time to comment.

Life can suck, sometimes.

Life is awesome, sometimes.

Life is messy, complicated and confusing ALOT of the time.

The most commonly provided emotion provided was ‘Hopeful’ (Demonstrated by the larger font size in the graphic).

Contrary to that –  ‘Anxious’ and ‘Drained’ were next.

I have felt every single one of these at some time or another.

If you knew that hope and despair were paths to the same destination, which would you choose?  ~ Robert Brault

This was an activity in self awareness and social awareness. Two of the Four attributes of ‘Emotional Intelligence’.

Conversations about how we are feeling at any given time is important, particularly if it having a detrimental effect on our physical and mental health, our relationships and/or our work performance.

    • Thanks so much for your beautiful comments! 🙂

I’m having a bit of a giggle about your chickens discussing the Poetry blog at the moment.. lol

With my slack blogging habits I often feel like my persistence (however ad hoc) results in me being ignored by a much larger audience.. lol

  2. That’s great Miss Lou. From that string of words of our individual selves you’ve in essence created a portrait of collective emotion and painted a wider picture. It speaks to the life and time in which we live as a historical imprint.

    • Thank you Anbayat. I was hoping for that effect, though without contributions from you (and others) it would not have been possible.

It’s been a great opportunity for me to get a sense of those people who I directly communicate through this medium as well – which has been awesome 🙂

      Thank you 🙂

      • In a way it highlighted the reason I am here, the reason we are all here, to find connections. Sometimes we don’t realize that’s what we are all looking for. Finding others who have been or are where we are.

We’ve lost so much in meaningful connections we crave it. As human we are pack animals, can walk alone but very connected to each other. We’re social beings and struggle to understand and be understood.

I liked what you did here, and reading what others had to say was very enlightening.

  3. As cool as those Angry Bird pyjamas! It’s hopeful that hopeful was the favourite word. I am hopeful that you will like my blog post today. It has graphics and emotional intelligence issues.

      • Mmmmm….sometimes this WordPress communication seems borderline speed dating…not that I have tried speed dating. I am just guessing, you understand!

      • LMAO!! sort of kind of… not really..

        But Yes!! Maybe…

*snorks* can you tell I am slightly sleep deprived?

My problem is that life keeps stealing me away and I finally get in here and then I have 200 comments to respond to.

Luckily most readers and commenters are wonderfully forgiving!

On reflection, yes, speed dating – minus any butterflies or romance what-so-ever.. *chuckles*

      • Definitely minus the romance etc….and, not really noticing that you are sleep deprived. You seem very normal..but, then, I am not exactly flush with sleep myself 😀 Miss Lou, you are a superstar of the blog world; 200 comments! Is it time to quit your day job?

      • 200 comments? Where?! *shakes my head back to reality*… That was excessive dramatic exaggeration for effect!!

I think the most I have ever had to sort out was about 35 and that was because I was absent for almost weeks, and about 20 of those were OM on his fast service post making unreasonable demands like 500 Kangaroos and the playing of Justin Beiber in my posts!

      • lol. I have had many interesting discussion adventures both in his blog as well as with many wonderful people I have met through his blog 🙂
