Mother Nature
It was not too long ago, North Queensland Suffered a terrible weather incident. Now Cyclone Ita is apon them,
The cyclone crossed the coast near Cape Flattery, north of Cooktown, about 9:00pm (AEST) as a destructive category-four system.
The bureau says the storm is low in the category-four scale currently, and is losing strength as it hits land.
A cyclone warning is current for coastal areas from Coen to Innisfail, including Cooktown, Port Douglas and Cairns, and extending inland to areas including Kalinga, Palmerville, Mareeba and Chillagoe.
My prayers are with you all. Please keep yourselves safe.
Thinking of you Jenni!
Praying for safety for everyone and that the storm loses its strength.
I’m with you there Elaine

Will it affect you at all? Hopefully it dies down quickly and doesn’t damage.

Hi staci, No, won’t effect us at all, though did have an effect on our fellow blogger, Jenni – (much closer) http://jenniferann1970.wordpress.com/2014/04/12/lets-check-out-the-damage-so-far-cyclone-ita/
Hey ML. Thanks for letting me know. I checked out the link.

๐ Thank you ๐
Yikes. Scary! I hope people are safe.
Me too!

Timely post and link to Jenni. Just been talking to my folks in Cairns. All fine for now. But my daughter (who still has PTSD from our earthquakes) has left Cairns and gone to Townsville. Now asking me if Townsville is safe. Should she move further away? The effects of natural disasters go on and on. I have to go to bed. I am worn out by a cyclone that’s not even in my backyard!!!!
Aww *huggles*
Prayers for you both

Now she has left Townsville and is on the road again!!!
Hoping she is safe and well. She must be really anxious after having suffered through the quakes!!
Hyper anxious. But nothing like an unplanned road trip to take your mind off other things.
*nods* yes!
I do hate scary weather! Keep safe, everyone!
Me too Linda ๐ฆ Since we had Tracey back in 74, every building has to be built to code. with steel and concrete. But that doesn’t stop the screaming of the winds outside ๐ฆ or the rain hitting your windows so hard it feels like they are going to smash at any second!
I’ve been close enough to a tornado to know what you mean. All the best, ML!
Tornados? Scary!
I’m in the Northern Territory, which thank goodness is way away west from the area that is being hit, though I do follow many bloggers in the North Queensland areas.
My prayers are with them!
Thanks for dropping by Linda

I hope it continues to lose strength. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in its path
Me too Dan. Me too.
